We are now recruiting for a Program Officer, who will develop and coordinate the content and logistics of our programs.

About the position

The successful candidate will have the following primary tasks and duties:

·   Develop and implement international study abroad programs in Rwanda

·   Coordinate the logistics and content of the international study abroad programs

·   Create relevant course-related documentation and program itineraries

·   Provide guiding and cultural immersion services’ as part of the study abroad programs

·   Develop strong relationships with local academic institutions, NGOs and communities

·   General support for the global GEI team: marketing and business development activities

·   Support the mental health project developed by GEI

Required skills & competencies

Education & experience:

·   Bachelor’s degree (minimum)

·   Minimum of 3 years’ work experience

·   Proven interest in international academic programs

·   Interest in on the ground guiding and support of international clients

·   Experience in interacting with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds


·   Excellent English and Kinyarwanda language skills, both written and oral

·   Excellent organizational skills

·   Excellent communication and writing skills

·   Excellent report writing skills

·   Excellent general computer and internet skills (Microsoft 365)

·   Comfortable with online meeting platforms (MS Teams calls, Zoom etc.)

Character & personality:

·   Passionate about international education and international development

·   Self-starter who takes initiative and thinks outside the box

·   Ability to work independently with little supervision

·   Outgoing, a natural communicator and a good networker

·   High standards of professionalism and performance

·   Highly reliable and trustworthy

·   Accountable
